Comment: This strain has been used frequently in transformation experiments with the ARG7 gene. The cw15 background facilitates transformation; the chloroplast sr-u-2-60 marker is irrelevant for this purpose. Transformation frequencies are good, but several people have reported difficulties in getting complete tetrads in subsequent crosses for transformants.
