CC-407 wild type mt+ C8

Comment: This is strain C8, probably equivalent to Sager's 21 gr strain. It is thought to have been brought to Japan in 1959 by Tsubo, who acquired it from Sager in 1954. This strain has been used as a background for some mutant isolations and in physiological studies, particularly in Japan. It is also of potential interest as an isolate that has now been separate from the Sager strain for more than 40 years.
