Source: Subclone of original mutant induced in the Boynton-Gillham lab at Duke, using nitrosoguanidine as mutagen.

Comment: This strain shows moderately low levels of streptomycin resistance (50-100 micrograms/ml) on minimal medium, and somewhat higher levels of resistance when grown on acetate. The mutation is a C>U change at position 856 in the chloroplast 16S rRNA.
